The Founder

I founded Pet Commerce Direct and Animal Shelter Store in 2006 because I wanted my life's passion for animal welfare to reach others. I have always been an advocate for animals and a pet nutrition enthusiast. Combining the two in order to create a unique company has been a life long dream.

Inspired by ten years as a foster mother to rescued dogs and cats I have a profound connection to what I do. In caring for homeless, abused, and neglected pets I was able to see first hand the struggles of animal shelters to deal with the balance of management and funding. As a caregiver it was also clear that optimal health can only be accomplished with a combination of nurturing  and access to great nutrition and wellness products.

Now, as a mother of many furry children and a human child I am more convinced that my life's purpose is what I am doing. I created this company to bring action to my promise to help homeless pets nationwide and to be a great role model to my daughter who I will always tell to follow her dreams and do what makes your heart sing.

This company is dedicated to companion pets and to the organizations who save them. Helping to enhance the quality of life and care for companion pets is my primary business mission and I hope to accomplish that on a national level with  every rescue who participates, each animal who receives a higher quality food or supplement, and each person who shops with us and realizes it is always greater to give than to receive.
